The definition of “perseverance” when looked up online is: “Persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.” Galatians 6:9 say’s “Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Since coming to Thailand we seem to take a step forward and then get kicked a few feet back. This has been the cycle thus far. There have been times we ask, why? Again? Seriously? Should we just leave? But we are constantly reminded that we are in a land that doesn’t know Christ. A land where Satan dwells comfortably; a land where we are disturbing his plans. And, because of this, it’s difficult; it’s not easy... Please click HERE to view the full newsletter.
The Lord has planted a Calvary Chapel, Refuge Fellowship Chiang Mai. We have pretty much continued the same ministries we had in Yangon. Most of those who attended the church in Yangon now watch the online service and the women join the online women’s Bible study. We also recently started having an online children’s church for the children in Myanmar. And we are continuing to connect with the youth. The Lord has us basically ministering to those in Thailand and Myanmar. We have church service on Sunday in person, mid-week study, youth group, women’s study and once a month we have a men’s breakfast and a church potluck/pitch in. For our mid-week study we use this time to reach out as a church to the community. Some weeks we as a church serve at a relocation camp with workers and families from Myanmar. We are also in the plans of having a Prayer booth at the local night market by the church to pray for people and sing worship. Please click HERE to view the full newsletter.
"We have been on the go since the first of the year. It amazes us at how much the Lord has done in such a short amount of time! We believe it's awesome, but then when it comes time to share it with all of you, how can we do this?! There's so much to share! We do hope that if you are on Facebook you are apart of our Mission Information group, because that is the easiest place where we post constant updates... "We left Myanmar at the end of June to begin our furlough. We stayed in Washington to get through jet lag and to get acclimated to the states for the first week and a half. We traveled to 16 states visiting churches, family and friends in the three months we were home. We ended our furlough by spending one week in Germany visiting family friends. In our travels we made stops in 8 countries and 13 airports. Our time on furlough was an encouragement to our family. While we traveled we shared about the work happening in Myanmar and of the need for laborers... " Please click HERE to view the full newsletter.
"The word furlough means leave of absence. This is interesting because although we will be leaving Myanmar for a few months, we will be very present in the USA. Some missionaries now use the term home assignment, implying they may not be in the field working, but they are now home working until returning to the field..." " Over the last few months we have experienced both blessings and trials. It has been a season of constant physical battles with our health here. The emotional battles have also been very intense. We knew we would experience more Spiritual warfare when Arron traveled the country teaching for a month straight at various conferences. We were so grateful to know we were being lifted in prayer during this time. We continue to push on towards the goal and continue to be strengthened through Christ..."
